A valid taxpayer identity helps an individual or organisation manage its tax obligations. Nigeria’s current Tax ID framework is administered through NRS and the Joint Revenue Board. Older documents and systems may refer to a Tax Identification Number or TIN.

The official Tax ID retrieval service has separate individual, corporate and other-entity options. Select the route that matches the taxpayer rather than applying a company’s process to an individual.
Tax ID does not replace filing
Obtaining or retrieving an identity is one step. It does not automatically mean that tax returns have been filed, payments credited or a Tax Clearance Certificate issued. These tasks should be reviewed separately.
Similarly, a CAC registration number is not itself a complete record of tax compliance. Keep the registry particulars and tax identity consistent.
